Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu joined members of Eko Club International in New Jersey for their 14th Biennial Convention and 25th Anniversary celebration.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the governor commended the group for 25 years of building bridges across continents, supporting communities, and proudly showcasing their Lagosian heritage.

He used the platform to highlight the incredible progress and potential of Lagos State.
At the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu received the Eko Club International Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He then used the opportunity to highlight what he called “the Lagos Advantage.”
The governor pointed to the state’s recent achievements, including hosting global events, expanding the metro system, exporting refined petrol to the United States for the first time, and advancing the Free Trade Zone into Africa’s largest industrial hub.

Governor Sanwo-Olu further urged the diaspora to invest in Lagos. He identified sectors like housing, healthcare, education, and technology as key areas of opportunity, stressing that these investments would benefit both Lagosians at home and abroad.
