The operation followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime.
The commission revealed that among items recovered were seven exotic cars (including a latest-model Toyota Corolla and a Lexus), two motorcycles, and numerous high-end phones and laptops believed to have been used in perpetrating internet fraud.
EFCC’s media office said the suspects will be arraigned in court after investigators complete their probe into their activities. Meanwhile, the seized items are being held as exhibits.
This arrest comes amid growing concern over the rising tide of internet fraud in Nigeria, which many believe is harming the country’s image abroad and increasing visa restrictions for innocent citizens.
The EFCC Chairman, represented locally by Chief Superintendent Coker Oyegunle during the event, reiterated that cybercrime, money-laundering and other forms of economic sabotage cost Nigeria heavily each year.
Oyegunle said the operation was part of the commission’s intensified efforts to clamp down on cybercrime networks operating under the cover of legitimate businesses and fake online identities.

He warned that no matter how sophisticated methods used by fraudsters become, the EFCC is expanding its intelligence-gathering and surveillance capacity to stay ahead.
Local residents welcomed the news, saying the incidents had been worrying them for months, with many reporting harassment, phishing, and social media scams affecting people they know.
Business owners in the areas named have also expressed relief, hoping the move will deter others from using their neighborhoods as hideouts for fraudsters.
Legal experts observing the development say the case will serve as a test of how effectively the EFCC can prosecute cybercrime in Nigeria.
They stress that successful convictions and secure evidence chains will be crucial in maintaining trust and ensuring the courts don’t become clogged with poorly framed cases.
As this case heads to court, many are watching for how transparent the investigations will be and whether the commission can ensure that justice is served without sacrificing the rights of those innocent until proven guilty.
