EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement shared with Society Plus, it was revealed that on August 1, 2025, Wendy began a solo journey from California with a rented car, determined to drive through all 48 contiguous states within 31 days. Her goal was not simply to complete a cross-country adventure but to draw attention to the growing crisis of homelessness in the United States.
“This wasn’t just about me driving around the country. It was about sharing in the experience of people who live without a home and giving them a voice,” she said.
To minimize costs and better understand the struggles of those without shelter, Wendy converted her rental car into a temporary home. She spent nights at truck stops, parking lots, and 24-hour rest areas, often sleeping in the driver’s seat before continuing her drive the next morning.
According to the statement, the trip was filled with challenges. Instead of the bright summer weather she had anticipated, she encountered heavy storms, fog, and mechanical problems that delayed her progress. Although she initially planned to return to California by her birthday on August 26, unexpected setbacks prolonged her trip. Despite the difficulties, Wendy never lost focus or determination.
“At every stop, Wendy carried more than her story—she carried compassion,” the statement noted. “She shared money and relief items with homeless individuals she met along the way, listened to their experiences, and shared what it was like living out of a car herself.”
Her mission was both symbolic and humanizing—turning her 31-day road trip into an act of empathy and advocacy. By the end of the journey, Wendy successfully covered all 48 contiguous U.S. states, leaving only Alaska and Hawaii for a future adventure.

Her story stands as a reminder that personal dreams can be transformed into platforms for social impact.
