A building on Biola Street in the Alapere area of Ketu, Lagos State, was gutted by fire on Friday, causing panic among residents and business owners in the neighbourhood.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the blaze sent thick plumes of smoke into the sky, drawing large crowds as emergency responders rushed to the scene to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.
Officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly after receiving a distress call and immediately began firefighting operations to contain the inferno.
Eyewitnesses said firefighters battled the blaze for several minutes as they worked to bring the situation under control and protect adjoining structures from the advancing flames.
