“I want to reassure you that we are fully committed and will not leave any stone unturned. We are making sacrifices to ensure a successful and credible convention,” Fintiri said.

The governor spoke passionately about his loyalty to the PDP, describing the party as one that shaped both his political and personal journey. He added that under his leadership, the party would remain united and strong, producing capable leaders for the next National Working Committee.
Fintiri stressed that the convention would be open and inclusive, allowing all qualified aspirants to contest freely. “We are not going to deny anybody the chance to contest. Everyone who has purchased forms will be screened transparently,” he said.
He assured members that the delegates’ list would be made public in the same transparent way as other committee names were released. “It’s not a closed system; it’s true democracy. If you believe you are popular, go to the field and test your strength,” he added.

Fintiri expressed confidence that the growing enthusiasm among party members signaled renewed hope in the PDP’s revival. “It shows that life is returning to the party. People are beginning to trust and show commitment to what we are doing,” he said.
He described the PDP as the biggest political party in sub-Saharan Africa and urged members to remain united. “Please, make sacrifices and ignore distractions. We will be victorious in the end,” he concluded.
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who heads the Protocol Subcommittee, also commended the growing momentum ahead of the Ibadan convention. He said the level of mobilisation reflected the PDP’s readiness to reclaim its place as Nigeria’s leading opposition party.
