President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following allegations of certificate forgery leveled against him.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the development was confirmed on Tuesday by Presidential Spokesman Bayo Onanuga.

Nnaji, who was appointed to the federal cabinet in August 2023, reportedly stepped down after the controversy surrounding his academic credentials gained public attention.

In his resignation letter, the former minister expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve, while alleging that the forgery claims were part of a “blackmail campaign” orchestrated by political opponents.
President Tinubu, in a brief response, acknowledged Nnaji’s contributions to his administration and wished him success in his future endeavours.
