APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and Deputy National Chairman South Hon. Emma Eneukwu revealed during the inauguration of a seven-member caretaker committee in Enugu that the party is intensifying efforts to expand its presence in the South East.
Confirming the development, the newly inaugurated Enugu State APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, told journalists at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja that Mbah and his team would be formally received into the party on the announced date.

He said the event would mark a major political shift in Enugu politics and would attract top national leaders of the APC.
The APC National Working Committee had earlier dissolved the Enugu State Working Committee and appointed a caretaker team to manage the party’s affairs
Nwoye assured party members that the new leadership would work to unite all factions and prepare the APC for a stronger showing in the next election.
He added that Governor Mbah’s defection would boost the party’s influence in the South East and attract more political stakeholders to its fold.
