According to the producers, Michael will celebrate the life and legacy of one of the world’s most influential entertainers, tracing his rise from The Jackson Five to becoming the “King of Pop.”
The trailer, however, does not reference Jackson’s past legal controversies or abuse allegations that surrounded his career. Reports indicate that the filmmakers had to rework parts of the movie due to legal restrictions linked to a 1993 case involving the Chandler family.

The biopic features Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson and Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, alongside Laura Harrier, Kat Graham, Derek Luke, Larenz Tate, and Miles Teller.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by Oscar-nominated John Logan, Michael is scheduled for release in cinemas on April 24, 2026.
