It was a gathering of unity, progress, and participation as Ikorodu Local Government under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Adebayo Abdulateef Ladega, hosted it’s 2026 Stakeholders’ Meeting on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat.
Eko Hor Blog reports that themed “Achieving a Budget for Prosperity for All,” the event brought together traditional leaders, associations, and residents to collectively shape the council’s developmental priorities for the coming fiscal year.
In his address, Hon. Ladega described the consultative meeting as a vital platform for inclusive governance.
“This forum is an opportunity for every resident to have a voice in shaping Ikorodu Local Government’s 2026 budget,” he stated, emphasizing that his administration operates under the SEED Agenda — Security, Education, Enhanced Healthcare, and Development.
The Chairman highlighted key achievements across multiple sectors, including:

Empowerment and Economic Inclusion: Over 500 artisans, traders, women, and youths benefited from empowerment initiatives such as the distribution of sewing machines, hairdressing kits, catering sets, and mini-tractors.
Education and Youth Engagement: Free GCE registration for students, summer coaching, and youth participation programs.
Healthcare and Welfare: The Itoju Agba Health Scheme for senior citizens, free medical outreaches, and improved water access across several communities.
Hon. Ladega also mentioned progress in road maintenance, drainage clearing, and waste management through the Clean Ikorodu Campaign.
He added that the council’s IJOBA LADEGA radio program and ward-to-ward tours have strengthened community dialogue and accountability.
Looking ahead, the Chairman unveiled a comprehensive 2026 vision focused on prosperity and inclusivity. The plan includes expanded healthcare access, new classroom construction, more scholarships, entrepreneurship schemes, and improved community security.
He reaffirmed his commitment to digital governance and environmental sustainability.
Hon. Ladega urged residents to take ownership of community projects and support the government through tax compliance. “Let us work together to build a safe, clean, and prosperous Ikorodu for all,” he said.
Earlier in her welcome remarks, Mrs. Adebayo Boladale M., Head of the Budget Office, thanked participants for their commitment to participatory governance.
She explained that all proposals gathered would be reviewed and implemented based on priority and available resources, saying, “Policy interaction ensures that both government and citizens’ priorities are harmonized for balanced development.”
The meeting also featured goodwill messages from representatives of market leaders, artisans, religious groups, CDC members, students, farmers, and persons with disabilities. Many applauded the council’s transparency and inclusive approach to governance.
The session ended with optimism as attendees commended Hon. Ladega’s leadership style, describing it as consultative, progressive, and responsive to community needs.
