Former Minister of Interior and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has called on Nigerians to rally behind the party, insisting that an ADC-led government will put an end to banditry and insecurity across the country.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Aregbesola made the call in Ilesa, Osun State, shortly after revalidating his membership card on Wednesday, an exercise witnessed by party chieftains and supporters.

Speaking at Ward 8, Ifofin, in Ilesa East, Aregbesola said he joined the ADC because of its values, discipline, and the integrity he believes are lacking in most political organisations.

He stressed that the party represents courage, competence, and a new political culture needed to rescue Nigeria from its current security challenges.
He noted that recent incidents—including the attack on a church in Kwara where worshippers were killed and abducted—underscore the urgency for Nigerians to support a party serious about security reforms.
According to him, the ADC is building a structure driven by character and accountability, which he described as the only pathway to national redemption.

Earlier, the Membership Registration and Revalidation Committee, led by Senator Sodiq Yaradua, launched the new ADC membership card, announcing that it contains 12 advanced security features to eliminate duplication. Aregbesola was the first member to be revalidated under the system.
Yaradua disclosed that an online registration portal will soon be activated to make enrolment easier for youths and older citizens across the country.
Aregbesola has consistently maintained that the ADC is preparing for a strong outing in the 2027 general elections. He previously declared the party’s readiness to unseat President Bola Tinubu and take over Lagos, unveiling a mass mobilisation model where every committed member recruits at least ten new supporters.
He told party faithful that once replicated nationwide, the recruiting strategy would give the ADC a dominant advantage at the federal and state levels.
