The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has officially commenced the Electronic Birth Registration (E-Birth) programme across designated Primary Health Care (PHC) centres within the LGA, marking a major step toward improving civil documentation and digital recordkeeping for newborns.
Eko Hot Blog reports that according to the announcement posted by the Council, the programme is designed to make birth registration faster, easier, and more accessible for all residents.

The council described the initiative as “a crucial move toward ensuring every child’s identity is secured from birth through accurate digital records.”
E-Birth registration is now available free of charge in the following PHC centres across Ibeju-Lekki: Bogije, Aiyeteju, Otunla, Ibeju, Orimedu, and Iberekodo.
Speaking on the development, an official of the Local Government noted that “parents no longer have to experience delays or challenges in obtaining birth certificates; the digital process is quick, reliable, and parent-friendly.”
Residents are encouraged to visit any of the listed PHC centres with their babies and the required documents to complete the process with the help of trained health officers.

Present required documents: mother’s ID, delivery note, and baby’s details.
Complete the digital form with assistance from trained health officers.
Receive a digital birth certificate via SMS/email or pick up a physical copy.
