Ibe-Kalu said over 35 events have been lined up, including cultural showcases, guided tours to Karshi Waterfalls and Ushafa Village, food fairs, Suya contests, football competitions, and pageantry events such as Miss Groovy December.

He also noted that forty-five coordinators across the diaspora have been mobilised to promote the festival globally.
He added that the festival, powered by private sponsors with government agencies providing regulatory and technical support, will also feature the Emerging Abuja Diaspora Investment Forum on December 17 to connect investors with local opportunities.
Chairman of the Groovy December Central Planning Committee, Imoh Ebong, described the initiative as a new chapter in rebranding Abuja through culture and entertainment.

He announced that the FCT Exhibition Pavilion will serve as the event hub with a 24-hour music stage, kiddies’ arena, and family-friendly activities from December 15 to 31.
Organisers say the festival will stimulate local tourism, boost small businesses, and position Abuja as one of Africa’s festive hotspots.
