- Tinubu Fully Prepared to Tackle Nigeria’s Security Issues – Lagos PCC
- Enilolobo outlined several measures already underway across the country
- …Stated that national security remains at the heart of the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda
The Lagos State chapter of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has reaffirmed its confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ability to address Nigeria’s current security challenges, despite the United States Government recently listing the country as a “Country of Particular Concern.”
Eko Hot Blog reports that this assurance was given by Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo, a senior member of the Lagos PCC, who described the designation and recent security incidents in parts of the country as a major test of leadership. He, however, maintained that President Tinubu possesses the experience and resolve required to navigate and overcome the situation.

Enilolobo stated that national security remains at the heart of the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda. He recalled that during the 2023 presidential campaign, Tinubu made a firm commitment to safeguard the lives and property of Nigerians. According to him, ongoing reforms within the nation’s security framework demonstrate the President’s determination to fulfil that commitment.
Drawing from the President’s record in Lagos State, Enilolobo noted that Tinubu inherited serious security issues as governor but successfully restored safety through intelligence-led operations, structural reforms and a deliberate, strategic approach. He added that this same coordinated and courageous method is now being deployed at the national level.

He described President Tinubu as a leader who prioritises decisive action over public theatrics, emphasising that the protection of human life is a sacred responsibility the President treats with utmost seriousness.
Enilolobo outlined several measures already underway across the country, including expanded police recruitment to boost manpower, increased financial support to states and local governments, renewed international security partnerships, investment in surveillance and intelligence technologies, and ongoing clearance operations in the northern regions. He also referenced the creation of Forest and Border Guards, continued implementation of the Safe Schools Initiative and reforms to strengthen military procurement processes.
He called on Nigerians to remain united, vigilant and supportive of security agencies. Enilolobo appealed to citizens to report suspicious activities and avoid narratives that stereotype or vilify entire ethnic or religious groups, stressing that criminals, whether terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, land grabbers or illegal miners often operate within communities and can be defeated through stronger civic cooperation.
Enilolobo concluded by noting that Nigeria’s greatest strength lies in its diversity and longstanding tradition of peaceful coexistence, urging citizens to remain steadfast as the nation works to overcome its security challenges.
