During the Juma’at service on Friday, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, addressed worshippers on the growing security concerns across the country, with a special focus on commercial motorcycle (okada) operators.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Speaking frankly about the situation, the Chairman noted that the nation is going through challenging times that call for shared responsibility.
“These are difficult moments, and they require firm and responsible actions from government and citizens alike,” he said.
He announced that enforcement of newly reviewed operational guidelines for okada riders would commence next week across the local government area.
“These measures are not to inconvenience anyone,” the Chairman explained. “They are designed to protect lives, secure property, and ensure a safer environment for everyone within Ibeju-Lekki.”
Hon. Olowa also urged residents to be more observant and proactive in matters relating to security.
“We need the cooperation of the public. Report any suspicious persons, movements, or activities that may threaten our peace,” he advised.
According to him, reports can be submitted at the Local Government Secretariat or through the nearest security agency, and verified whistle-blowers will be rewarded.
“Anyone who provides credible information that helps our security efforts will receive appropriate recognition and reward,” he added.
