Addressing the new chiefs, the renowned Islamic scholar and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Fadeelat Sheikh Alhaji Prof. Morufdeen Adeniyi Shittu, urged them to uphold the pillars of Islam and go beyond the contributions that earned them their recognition.
He stated, “Your chieftaincy is a call to greater responsibility that will earn you rewards both on earth and in Aljanah. May you not fail in discharging the duties of your offices, and may you always act in love and peace.”
Several of the newly turbaned chiefs, speaking to the press, pledged to remain dedicated, focused, and committed to the growth of Islam, promising to surpass their previous contributions.
The ceremony also welcomed traditional rulers, including Onibeju of Ibeju Land, HRM Oba Waliu Olasunkanmi Rasak, and Ologunfayo of Ogunfayo Kingdom, HRM Oba Muftau Adewunmi Olanrewaju Idogun.
In a notable addition, the Olori of Ogunfayo Kingdom was also turbaned as a chief, further strengthening the bond between traditional and religious leadership within the community.
Hon. Akinloye’s presence and support at the ceremony reaffirm the LCDA’s dedication to promoting unity, religious harmony, and development within Eredo.
