The family of the late Chief J.K. Randle, on Wednesday, held the 69th Annual Thanksgiving and Memorial Service in honour of the renowned sportsman, philanthropist, and statesman.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the church service took place at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos, while a reception was later held at Parkview, Ikoyi.

The event drew family members, friends, and dignitaries from different walks of life who gathered to celebrate a life described as impactful and selfless.
Chief J.K. Randle, a 1956 Olympian and public servant, was remembered for his commitment to unity, service, and national development.

Speakers at the event reflected on his contributions to sports, governance, and philanthropy, noting that his influence remains visible decades after his passing.
Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, who spoke during the event, described the late Chief Randle as a man who lived purposefully and left behind values that continue to guide society.
She noted that his legacy has endured because of the deliberate efforts of his children to sustain his ideals.

Also speaking with Ekohotblog, Shex Ladipo, Managing Director of Lisabi Group of Foods, commended the Randle family for consistently bringing people together to remember their father.
According to him, the annual memorial service embodies gratitude, unity, and respect for history, and he notes that Chief Randle’s life remains a beacon for leadership and service.
In an interview with Ekohotblog, the son of the late icon, Bashorun J.K. Randle, explained that the memorial service is a family tradition aimed at preserving their father’s legacy and inspiring younger generations to live lives of impact and integrity.
Other dignitaries present, including representatives of the Eko Club, a legal practitioner, and notable personalities such as Okoya Eleganza and traditional rulers, also paid tribute to the late statesman.
Speakers unanimously agreed that Chief J.K. Randle lived a life well spent and that his legacy continues to thrive through his children and the institutions that bear his name.
