President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s determination to eliminate terrorism and banditry, assuring Nigerians that security agencies are intensifying efforts to restore peace across troubled regions.

Tinubu acknowledged the scale of the country’s security challenges but maintained that troops were recording progress through sustained operations, arrests and the dismantling of criminal networks.
He noted that while isolated attacks often attract public attention, security forces have continued to neutralise threats and push back violent groups operating across the North-West, North-East and North-Central zones.
The President expressed confidence in the armed forces, assuring Nigerians that peace and stability would ultimately prevail.
Beyond security, Tinubu assured the Bayelsa delegation that his administration remained committed to the development of the Niger Delta, citing ongoing infrastructure and social intervention projects.
He commended the Niger Delta Development Commission under its Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, stating that recent efforts were improving living conditions and economic activity within host communities.
Tinubu admitted that the oil-producing region had suffered neglect in the past but pledged renewed engagement anchored on progress, dialogue and inclusive development.

Addressing economic concerns, the President said Nigeria had exited a difficult phase and that the focus now was ensuring that economic recovery translates into real benefits for ordinary citizens.
Leaders of the Ogbia community, in response, pledged political support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, praising his leadership and expressing appreciation for the appointment of Ogbuku as NDDC Managing Director.
