The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, has distributed food items and live chickens to residents across the local government area as part of activities marking the 2025 Christmas celebration.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the distribution exercise, which covered several wards and communities, was aimed at providing relief to residents amid prevailing economic challenges and supporting households to celebrate the festive season.

Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Animashaun said the initiative was in line with the council’s commitment to social welfare and inclusive governance.
She noted that the Christmas season provides an opportunity to show care and solidarity, adding that the administration remains focused on ensuring that residents are supported, particularly during significant periods of celebration.
According to her, “Christmas is a season of love, unity and sharing, and it is important that residents are able to celebrate with a sense of dignity and belonging.”
She stated that the outreach reflects the council’s people-focused policies and its resolve to maintain regular engagement with communities at the grassroots.
Residents who benefited from the distribution expressed appreciation to the local government leadership, noting that the intervention would ease household expenses during the festive period.
The initiative forms part of the Animashaun administration’s broader approach to responsive governance and community welfare, aimed at strengthening trust between the local government and residents.
