- Reckless driving by two truck drivers led to a fatal collision at Temu, Ejinrin.
- Hausa youths protested the loss by blocking roads, resulting in gridlock across Epe.
- Intervention by local authorities, police, and community leaders restored peace and traffic flow.
A fatal accident at Oke Osho, Temu in Ejinrin, Lagos State, on Wednesday claimed the life of a tricycle (Keke) driver and left several others injured.
Eko Hot Blog reports that eyewitnesses said the incident occurred when two truck drivers, allegedly engaged in a reckless road dispute, lost control. One of the trucks flew off from another road and rammed into a tricycle and a bicycle carrying bags of pure water.
“The impact was terrible. The Keke driver died instantly, while the pure water seller and others sustained serious injuries,” an eyewitness recounted.
The tragedy sparked outrage in the community, as angry Hausa youths, mourning their fallen brother, blocked the highway in protest.

The demonstration caused a massive traffic gridlock across Epe, grounding movement on critical routes that link Ikorodu, Ijebu-Ode, and Ajah.
A motorist caught in the traffic lamented: “I’ve been stuck here for hours. The accident is painful, but blocking the road has worsened the situation for everyone.”
Authorities quickly moved in to prevent escalation. The Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Hon. Akogun Wale Anomo, alongside the Epe Divisional Police team led by the DCO, intervened to calm tensions.
They were supported by the Chairman of the Epe Tricycle Union, Xabi Alonso Saheed Pako Pashe, the Seriki of the Hausa community, and youths of Temu.
Their combined efforts ensured the deceased’s body was evacuated with police support and normalcy restored.
“We appreciate the swift intervention of the council chairman, the police, and our community leaders. Without them, this could have turned into something worse,” a resident told reporters.
