Eko Hot Blog reports that the launch, held at the Eredo LCDA Secretariat, witnessed the disbursement of ₦20,000 each to 100 beneficiaries, marking the commencement of the initiative designed to promote compassion, dignity and people-focused governance at the grassroots.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Akinloye assured residents that the cash transfer scheme is a monthly programme that will rotate across all wards in Eredo LCDA.
He added that after the maiden edition, subsequent disbursements would be taken directly to beneficiaries in their homes from next month.
He explained that the initiative was made possible through the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which has strengthened grassroots administrations with adequate funding to care for their people.
“This initiative is a monthly one and it will go round all the wards in Eredo LCDA. After today, we will also be taking it directly to the homes of beneficiaries from next month,” Akinloye said.
“All these are possible because of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has given us enough support to genuinely take care of our people at the grassroots level.”
The chairman further disclosed plans for another monthly grant of #100,000 scheme that would commence soon, starting with 200 beneficiaries, noting that it would be different from the one disbursed at the event.
He also highlighted few of several projects executed by his administration, including the installation of solar-powered boreholes in different locations, distribution of writing materials to pupils in all 19 primary schools in Eredo LCDA, continuous provision of school uniforms and bags, Christmas distribution of rice, chicken and cash to staff and residents, and an empowerment programme designed to equip residents with tools and materials for self-reliance.
In her remarks, the Apex Leader for Eredo LCDA, Hon. Stella Adedolapo, described the cash transfer as a thoughtful and impactful intervention, urging beneficiaries to remain committed and supportive of the leadership delivering dividends of democracy at the grassroots.
Other political and community leaders present at the event also spoke in strong support of the initiative, describing it as timely and people-oriented.
Hon. Adelaja the former Chairman Eredo LCDA, commended the chairman for prioritising the welfare of the aged and widows, noting that the programme reflects genuine grassroots leadership. “This is leadership with a human face. The chairman has shown that governance is about touching lives directly,” he said.
Hon. Adebanjo John Bull, in his remarks, assured beneficiaries that the programme was carefully planned to be sustained. “This is not a one-off gesture.
The chairman has structured this initiative to run monthly and to reach every ward in Eredo LCDA,” he stated, adding that the leadership of Hon. Akinloye remains committed to inclusive development.
The Apex Leader for Eredo LCDA, Hon. Stella Adedolapo, further urged beneficiaries to remain disciplined and appreciative of the opportunity.
“When support like this comes, it is important that it is used wisely. This administration has shown care, and we must respond with loyalty, unity and continued support,” she said.
Beneficiaries of the cash transfer could not hide their joy as they expressed gratitude to the chairman and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the intervention.
One of the beneficiaries described the support as a relief during difficult economic times. “This money will help me buy food and medicine. May God bless the chairman and our president,” she prayed.
Another beneficiary appreciated the assurance that the programme would reach homes in subsequent months, saying, “Knowing that this support will come to our houses every month gives us hope and peace of mind.”
Many of the beneficiaries also offered collective prayers for Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking God to grant them wisdom, strength and long life to continue delivering good governance and people-focused programmes across Eredo LCDA and Nigeria at large.
