The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced the full restoration of the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) in Warri, Delta State, weeks after an explosion disrupted operations on the asset.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, Andy Odeh, said the pipeline is now fully operational, reaffirming the company’s commitment to energy security and operational resilience.

According to Odeh, the company immediately activated its emergency response protocols following the unexpected explosion on December 10, 2025, deploying coordinated containment and repair measures to address the incident.
“NNPC Limited is pleased to announce the successful restoration of the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) in Warri, Delta State,” the statement read.
“Following the incident, we mobilised multidisciplinary teams who worked round the clock to repair the damaged section, carry out pressure testing, and safely recommission the pipeline. Today, the ELPS is fully operational.”

Odeh noted that the successful restoration was achieved through the combined efforts of host communities, regulatory authorities, security agencies, partners, and NNPCL staff.
He described the development as a demonstration of the company’s ability to turn a major operational setback into a success story within a short period, while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.
“As we move forward, NNPC Limited remains committed to protecting the environment, safeguarding host communities, and ensuring the integrity, reliability, and safety of its assets,” the statement added.
The company also thanked stakeholders for their support and trust, pledging to continue delivering stable energy supply to Nigeria and beyond.
