Seven teams have already qualified for the Round of 16.
Seven countries have been eliminated from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco following the conclusion of the latest round of group stage matches.
The teams knocked out of the tournament are Uganda, Botswana, Zambia, Comoros, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Zimbabwe, all of whom failed to secure enough points to progress to the knockout stage.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Uganda became the latest side to exit the competition on Tuesday night after suffering a 3 -1 defeat to Nigeria’s Super Eagles in their final Group C match.
The Cranes entered the encounter needing a win to keep their qualification hopes alive but were outplayed by a confident Nigerian side that dominated large spells of the contest.
Nigeria, who had already built strong momentum in the group, controlled proceedings and sealed the victory to complete a perfect group campaign and confirm their place in the Round of 16.
Following the loss, Uganda finished bottom of Group C with just one point, behind Nigeria, Tunisia and Tanzania, bringing their AFCON campaign to an early end.
Earlier performances by Uganda had shown flashes of promise, but defensive lapses and missed chances ultimately cost them a place in the knockout phase.
Nigeria’s victory further highlighted their attacking sharpness and improved defensive organisation, reinforcing their growing confidence heading into the knockout rounds.
The Super Eagles now advance as one of the tournament’s most consistent sides, having won all their group matches and conceded just one goal.
Meanwhile, seven teams have already secured qualification for the Round of 16. The countries through so far are Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, Mali, Morocco, South Africa and Egypt.
With group stage fixtures still ongoing, more teams are expected to seal their places in the coming days as the competition gradually moves into its decisive phase.
