The Federal Government has restated its resolve to strengthen and expand Nigeria’s strategic alliance with China, stressing that the long-standing relationship will continue to grow and yield sustainable gains for both nations.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Director-General and Global Liaison of the Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership, Mr. Joseph Tegbe, said the partnership is firmly built on mutual respect, shared ideals, and a collective aspiration for inclusive development.

He explained that cooperation between both countries is designed to evolve steadily, delivering lasting outcomes that support a shared future.

Tegbe noted that Nigeria remains fully committed to advancing diplomatic, economic, and strategic engagements with China, adding that deeper collaboration would unlock fresh opportunities for growth, innovation, and development on both sides.
He further disclosed that ongoing engagements are aimed at reinforcing cooperation in key sectors critical to Nigeria’s progress, including infrastructure, technology, industrial expansion, and human capital development.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Consul General in Lagos, Ms. Yan Yuqing, recently acknowledged the significant progress recorded by both countries in 2025, particularly in political relations, economic partnerships, and people-to-people exchanges.

She expressed optimism that the relationship would enter a stronger phase in 2026, with expanded investments, improved development cooperation, and increased cultural and economic exchanges.
