Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Thursday convened a high-level security meeting with the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 12, overseeing Bauchi and Gombe States, AIG Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, to address recent security concerns in the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the meeting follows a violent attack in Pindiga community, Akko Local Government Area, where unknown gunmen killed two residents and abducted three others, raising alarms over the safety of citizens.

During the session, Governor Yahaya and the AIG assessed the current security landscape across Gombe, focusing on strengthening intelligence networks, increasing police visibility, and improving rapid response mechanisms to curb further incidents.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to zero tolerance for crime, emphasizing that safeguarding lives and property remains a top priority.
He assured the police of full government backing and promised the use of all lawful resources to maintain lasting peace.
AIG Sadiq Aliyu praised Governor Yahaya’s proactive approach and support for security agencies, revealing that the Nigeria Police Force has intensified efforts to apprehend the attackers and enhance preventive measures.

He also highlighted plans to boost coordination among security agencies in Zone 12, stressing that timely intelligence and community engagement are critical to restoring stability.
The meeting included the Commissioner of Police for Gombe State Command and other senior police officers, all of whom were committed to reinforcing security across the state.
