Constituents of Epe Constituency II in the Epe Division of Lagos State have publicly reaffirmed their confidence, loyalty, and unwavering support for their representative at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sylvester Oluwadahunsi Ogunkelu, pledging to stand by him beyond the year 2027.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the reaffirmation came on Thursday, January 1, 2026, during Hon. Ogunkelu’s Annual New Year Celebration Party held at Egbon Compound, Idiroko, Ibonwon, in Eredo Local Council Development Area.

The colourful event attracted a massive turnout of constituents from across Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDAs.
Long before the arrival of the lawmaker, the venue was already filled with excitement as residents dined, interacted, and shared testimonies of what many described as unprecedented and people-oriented representation.
Constituents openly praised Hon. Ogunkelu’s impact across all wards of the constituency, noting that his interventions have touched countless lives.
The atmosphere became electrifying upon the arrival of Hon. Ogunkelu, as men and women, youths and elders, dressed in glamorous outfits and grouped under various community and political platforms, welcomed him with songs, chants, and loud cheers.
Many declared their readiness to re-elect him in the 2027 general elections to enable him continue what they termed quality representation at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Hon. Ogunkelu, who serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Physical Planning and Urban AGIS, received the overwhelming show of love with humility.
He moved round the venue, engaging directly with constituents and reiterating his commitment to the development, welfare, and collective interests of Epe Constituency II.
The event was graced by several political leaders, traditional rulers, and stakeholders, including the APC Apex Leader in Epe Constituency II, Hon. Wasiu Odeyemi (WASTAB); former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lanre Odubote;
APC Vice Chairman, Lagos East, Yeye Olayinka Olusanya; Executive Chairmen of Eredo and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDAs, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye and Hon. Akogun Wale Raji-Anomo; APC stalwart Otunba Nurudeen; High Chief Olowa;
High Chief Ogebo of Ibonwon; chiefs from Ilara, Igbooye, and Odo-Egiri Kingdoms; religious leaders; APC LGA chairmen; and other political and community leaders.
Their goodwill messages reflected broad-based acceptance of Hon. Ogunkelu’s leadership, as they wished him a successful 2026 and prayed for increased dividends of democracy to the constituency.
A major highlight of the celebration was the unveiling of a new political support group, OSCO Progressive Women, by the Overall Women Leader of Eredo LCDA, Alhaja (Princess) Olaitan Olayemi.
The group, made up of 40 women, pledged total support for the lawmaker’s re-election bid.
“Hon. Ogunkelu has performed excellently, and his love for us is sincere.
To reciprocate his good deeds, we have formed this group to continually support him and take the crusade of his re-election to every nook and cranny of this constituency, so that he will represent us beyond 2027, insha’Allah,” she said.
In a brief interaction with journalists, the lawmaker’s father, Chief Dr. Bimbola Ogunkelu, expressed gratitude to the people of Epe Constituency II for their steadfast support, urging them to sustain the unity and cooperation that have driven the achievements recorded so far.
The celebration ended on a joyful note as constituents were treated to sumptuous meals, assorted drinks, gift items, and cash support.
The atmosphere of thanksgiving was further elevated by soul-lifting praise and worship led by gospel artistes Evangelist Lanre Teriba (Atorishe) and Evangelist Yinka Alaseyori.
