The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against violent crime, arresting three suspects in connection with the killing of legal practitioner Chigbo Princess, who was reportedly targeted by a notorious “one-chance” armed robbery group operating in Abuja.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspects were apprehended after FCT Police Commissioner Miller Dantawaye directed operatives to track and neutralize those responsible for the crime. Utilizing digital intelligence, the Scorpion Squad, under ACP Victor Ogbeide Godfrey, traced the victim’s mobile phone and conducted follow-up operations across Dei-Dei, Dakwa, and Dan-Tata communities in Kubwa between January 5 and 10, 2026.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Saifullahi Yusuf, 22; Ishau Yusuf, 24; and Minka’ilu Jibril, also known as Dan-Hajia. Saifullahi and Ishau are brothers and residents of Dan-Tata Community in Dei-Dei.

Preliminary investigations revealed that all three are affiliated with a well-known armed robbery syndicate that has carried out multiple attacks in the FCT over the past several years, often targeting victims during festive periods.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the incident occurred on January 5, when Princess Chigbo unknowingly entered a black Volkswagen Golf 3 along Kubwa Expressway. Once inside, the suspects closed the tinted windows, brandished weapons, and demanded ransom for her release.
When the victim reportedly refused to cooperate, she was physically assaulted and pushed out of the moving vehicle, causing her death.
The suspects allegedly took the victim’s Android phone, which was later sold in Dei-Dei for ₦120,000. Investigators said Minka’ilu Jibril received ₦30,000, Saifullahi Yusuf got ₦15,000, while Ishau Yusuf and another accomplice, identified as Musa, shared the remaining proceeds.
Items recovered from the suspects include five scissors, two dagger knives, two other knives, one long chain, and one plier.
The FCT Police Command confirmed that the deceased’s identity and belongings were recovered from the scene along Kubwa Expressway. Documents indicated that Princess Chigbo may have been a staff member of the FCT High Court.

Adeh highlighted that intelligence-led policing and collaboration between units enabled swift arrests, emphasizing the command’s commitment to tackling violent crime in the territory.
This development comes shortly after the killing of nurse Chinemerem Chuwumeziem at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, an incident that sparked nationwide outrage and condemnation from the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (FCT Council).
Police assured that ongoing investigations aim to bring all perpetrators to justice and strengthen public confidence in security operations across the FCT.
