The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has commended the courage and determination of Chinyenwa Amadi, a Nigerian female biker who completed an arduous motorcycle journey from Lagos to France and back in support of cancer patients who cannot afford chemotherapy.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Amadi was received at NiDCOM’s Lagos office after riding her power bike to the venue, where Dabiri-Erewa praised her resilience and described her feat as inspiring.

The NiDCOM boss also hosted UK-based professional boxer Odera Okwuvosa and his brother, Henry, applauding their individual efforts in projecting a positive image of Nigeria globally.
In a statement issued by NiDCOM’s Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocol, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa expressed pride in the guests for advancing Nigeria’s reputation through excellence in their respective fields. She reaffirmed the commission’s readiness to partner with Nigerians in the diaspora whose initiatives contribute to national development.
Amadi, a native of Owerri, Imo State, and a yoga and fitness instructor, began the historic ride on 8 October 2025 with a target of raising N100 million for cancer patients across the country. Despite sustaining a finger injury during an accident in Burkina Faso, which required stitches, she pressed on, navigating difficult road conditions, extreme weather, border challenges, discrimination, and physical exhaustion.
Reflecting on the experience, Amadi described the journey as both physically and emotionally demanding, driven by her passion for supporting cancer patients and challenging societal stereotypes. She said the ride was also meant to inspire women and young people to pursue their dreams without fear.

“I come from a place where women are not expected to do much, so I decided to ride for a cause and to change that narrative,” she said, urging young Nigerians to take bold steps toward their ambitions rather than delaying action.
In a related event, Dabiri-Erewa also lauded Odera Okwuvosa, a fitness entrepreneur, media influencer, author, and heavyweight boxing champion, for his patriotism and commitment to mentoring young Nigerians. Okwuvosa’s achievements include winning the British University Championship, two London titles, the East Midlands title, and the UK National title.
Okwuvosa, who frequently visits Nigeria, said the country’s culture and the warmth of its people continue to draw him back home. He pledged to deepen his engagement with NiDCOM’s diaspora programmes and contribute further to youth development initiatives in the country.
