Nollywood star and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has spoken candidly about her background, revealing details of her education, brief acting career and foray into politics that many of her followers are largely unaware of.
In a video shared on her official Facebook page, Eko Hot Blog reports that the outspoken public figure offered insight into aspects of her life often overshadowed by fame and controversy.
She disclosed that she is professionally trained as a petrochemical engineer, having studied Petrochemical Engineering at Rivers State University, formerly Rivers State University of Science and Technology.

According to Dikeh, this academic achievement has always been part of her public profile, but it rarely attracts attention because most conversations around her focus on her Nollywood career and personal life.

She also reflected on her short-lived political journey, recalling her emergence in 2022 as the deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State ahead of the 2023 general election, alongside governorship candidate Tonte Ibraye.
Although the party did not secure victory, her entry into politics generated widespread public interest at the time.

The actress-turned-entrepreneur further clarified that her time in Nollywood was brief, stating that she acted for only about four years. She noted that she does not consider herself an actress, attributing her lasting relevance to her strong personality rather than the length of her career in the film industry.
Tonto Dikeh rose to prominence in the late 2000s after starring in movies such as Holy Cross, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about faces in Nollywood.
In recent years, however, she has stepped away from acting, channeling her energy into business ventures, humanitarian efforts, and social advocacy.
