The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the commencement of a nationwide electronic membership registration exercise aimed at updating its database and expanding its membership base across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the exercise, which begins on Monday, January 5, 2026, will take place simultaneously in all wards nationwide as part of the party’s broader push to modernise its internal processes and strengthen grassroots participation.

In Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Lagos State, the launch of the e-registration initiative drew the presence of key party leaders, including the Executive Chairman of the council, Comrade Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya; the Councillor representing Ward C, Isheri-Oshun, Hon. Oluwatosin Opebiyi, who also serves as the Deputy Leader of the 6th Legislative Council; and former Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Mojisola Ayinke Badmus, alongside other party stakeholders.

Party leaders described the digital registration exercise as a strategic move to make membership enrolment more accessible, transparent, and efficient. Existing members have been urged to validate their details online, while new and intending members are encouraged to seize the opportunity to formally join the party.
The APC reaffirmed its commitment to good governance, national unity, and sustainable development, noting that a credible and up-to-date membership register is essential to achieving its progressive objectives.
According to the party, prospective registrants will be required to provide their Voter Identification Number (VIN) and National Identification Number (NIN). Members yet to obtain their NIN have been advised to do so promptly to avoid delays during the registration process.

Several party members who spoke during the launch expressed optimism about the digital approach, saying it would simplify registration and attract more Nigerians, especially young people, to active political participation. Others highlighted the benefits of APC membership and called on citizens to support the party’s vision for national development.
The party has urged Nigerians to stay informed and fully participate in the exercise, stressing that broad-based membership remains key to strengthening the APC and advancing its progressive agenda.
