The partnership was formally announced during a sensitisation visit, where a comprehensive scholarship scheme targeting 500 beneficiaries was unveiled.
The programme will offer successful applicants the opportunity to study at Grace Polytechnic with substantial financial support to ease the burden of tuition fees.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries will enjoy up to 85 per cent tuition fee coverage, a move designed to support indigent but deserving students who face financial barriers to continuing their education. Hon. Agbeyangi described the initiative as a long-term investment in human capital and youth empowerment.
“This initiative is our way of giving back to society,” Hon. Agbeyangi said. “By reducing the financial burden on students, we are encouraging academic excellence and taking practical steps to curb the dropout rate among our youths.”
Mr. Osinaike explained that the scholarship model was inspired by a similar intervention he successfully implemented during his tenure at Education District IV, noting that the goal is to replicate impactful programmes that expand educational opportunities.
He added that Hon. Agbeyangi’s approval of the scheme, despite Education District III being outside his immediate jurisdiction, reflects a strong commitment to inclusive development.
Representing the TG/PS at the event, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Olalekan Rufai, conveyed appreciation to the council leadership and urged eligible candidates to take advantage of the opportunity.
“On behalf of the students and youths of Education District III, we deeply appreciate this gesture and assure you that the opportunity will be responsibly utilised,” Mr. Rufai said. “I encourage all eligible candidates to seize this rare privilege, as opportunities like this do not come often.”
