The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Kaosarat Bada Ambrose, has hosted a stakeholders’ meeting of Akodo community leaders under Parcel A of the Lekki resettlement scheme at the Conference Room of the Ministry.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the meeting was convened as part of sustained efforts by the Lagos State Government to strengthen engagement with host communities, address land-related concerns, and promote orderly and sustainable development within the Lekki axis of the state.
In attendance were key stakeholders, including the Chairman, House Committee on Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Hon. Abiodun Tobun; the Permanent Secretary, MCCTI, Mr. Babatunde Onigbanjo; the Alakodo of Akodo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdulHakeem Olokodana;
the Managing Director of Lekki Worldwide Investments Limited, Mr. Adeola Olusodo; the Administration Controller of Lekki Free Zone Development Company, Mr. Akorede Ojomu; representatives of relevant MDAs, the Local Government Council, and members of the Akodo community.
Discussions at the meeting centred on the review of previous resolutions, boundary demarcation of project land, suspension of illegal sand mining activities, access control challenges, and areas of collaboration between the government and host communities.
Stakeholders assessed progress made since the last engagement and agreed on actionable steps to enhance cooperation and ensure adherence to established frameworks.
Mrs. Ambrose stressed the importance of continuous dialogue and transparency in resolving disputes and driving development in the area.
“Meaningful engagement, transparency, and peaceful coexistence remain critical to achieving sustainable development in the Lekki axis,” the Commissioner said.
