The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed the ongoing e-registration exercise as a clear indicator of Nigerians’ confidence in the party, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Seye Oladejo, the state chapter’s spokesman, described the digital registration drive as a landmark initiative that strengthens internal democracy, promotes party cohesion, and enhances grassroots participation ahead of the next general elections.

In a statement on Monday, Oladejo said: “The overwhelming turnout and seamless adoption of the digital registration platform clearly demonstrate the growing confidence of Lagosians and Nigerians at large in the APC and its progressive ideals.”
He added that the exercise has expanded the party’s membership, providing a transparent, credible, and verifiable database reflecting APC’s strength across wards, local governments, and constituencies.
“The success of the exercise has further fostered internal democracy within the party by giving both long-standing and new members the opportunity to register formally, qualifying them to vote and be voted for in accordance with the party constitution. This inclusive approach reinforces fairness, participation, and trust among members,” Oladejo said.
He also commended the requirement for a valid Voters’ Card and National Identification Number (NIN) for registration, describing it as a strategic move to protect the integrity of the process and prevent the inclusion of ghost members.
“The implications of registering over ten million members nationwide are profound. This milestone confirms APC’s deep-rooted structures and formidable presence across Nigeria. Such a verifiable membership base reflects the party’s acceptability, organisational strength, and enduring connection with the grassroots,” Oladejo concluded.
