President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected in Kano on Monday to formally receive Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the All Progressives Congress at a grand reception scheduled to hold at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata.
The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, alongside several APC governors, is also billed to attend the ceremony, which party leaders have described as a major political event aimed at strengthening the ruling party’s foothold in the North West.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Kano State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, said the reception would formally and symbolically welcome Yusuf into the party. He described the development as a significant milestone for the APC in Kano, one of Nigeria’s most strategic political strongholds.
According to Abbas, preparations have been concluded to ensure a smooth and hitch free event. He disclosed that several committees were inaugurated to coordinate security, logistics and mobilisation ahead of the ceremony.
A 15 member Security Committee, chaired by Col. Umar Malami, with the Director General of Special Services as secretary, will oversee security arrangements.
A 16 member Venue Committee, headed by Hon. Bala Mohd Gwagwarwa, with Umar Abdullahi Ganduje as secretary, has been tasked with managing facilities at the stadium.
Media and public engagement will be handled by a 15 member Publicity Committee chaired by Hon. Muhammad Garba.
The Health Emergency and Sanitation Committee, led by Dr Abubakar Labaran, will coordinate medical and emergency services during the event.
The Protocol Committee, chaired by Hon. Abdullahi Rogo, is responsible for managing reception formalities for dignitaries expected at the ceremony.

To ensure wide participation, the party also constituted a 20 member Mobilisation Committee headed by Hon. Mohd Bello Butu Butu.
