Hunter Biden has disclosed that former US President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread to his bones, describing the condition as painful and debilitating.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Hunter made the disclosure during an interview with the BBC programme Newsnight, according to footage of the interview posted online on Friday.
“The cancer has spread, metastasised into his bones and further,” Hunter said, adding that the illness had caused his father significant pain and affected him physically.
A spokesperson for the 83-year-old former president declined to comment on Hunter Biden’s remarks.
Joe Biden announced in May 2025, shortly after leaving the White House, that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. At the time, his representatives said the disease had already spread to his bones.
In October, a spokesperson disclosed that Biden was receiving radiation treatment and hormone therapy as part of his medical care.
Biden, who was the oldest person to become US president when he was elected in 2020, faced repeated public scrutiny over his physical condition and mental sharpness during his 2021–2025 presidency.
Despite those concerns, he has continued to make occasional public appearances. In June, Biden attended the dedication of former President Barack Obama’s presidential library in Chicago. He served as Obama’s vice president from 2009 to 2017.
Biden is also expected to publish a presidential memoir on November 17.
