Alhaji Olabode Kashif Oyedele yesterday hosted the 2026 Annual Ramadan Lecture themed “Ramadan & Economic Resilience: Exploring Islamic Principles for Overcoming Financial Hardship.”

Eko Hot Blog report that the event, held on Saturday at Orimedu Ocean Drive, beach side, along the road beside the Orimedu Police Post, attracted religious scholars, community leaders, business owners, and residents from across the Lekki-Epe axis.
Delivering the keynote address, Sheikh Murtadho Abdul-Gafar Arikewuyo, popularly known as Baba Ni Lekki, provided in-depth insights into how Islamic teachings offer practical solutions to financial hardship.
He emphasized discipline, ethical wealth creation, prudent spending, charity (Zakat and Sadaqah), and trust in Allah as foundational principles for building economic resilience.
He stated that “Islam provides clear guidance on how to manage wealth responsibly and overcome financial hardship through discipline and lawful earnings.” He further explained that “Zakat and Sadaqah are not just acts of charity, but instruments for economic balance and social stability.”
The respected cleric noted that Ramadan is not only a month of fasting but also a season of financial reflection and restructuring. According to him, “Ramadan teaches self-control, and that same discipline should reflect in how we spend, save, and support others.”
He encouraged participants to adopt responsible financial habits, support one another within the community, and embrace lawful means of livelihood as pathways to sustainable prosperity.
In his remarks, Alhaji Oyedele reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that promote spiritual growth and socio-economic development. He described the annual lecture as “a platform for enlightenment, moral reawakening, and communal advancement.”
He also expressed appreciation to attendees and scholars for their consistent support.
Special prayers were offered for economic stability, peace, and progress within the community and the nation at large.
Hon Olad popularly know as Koseleri praised the initiative,he also urged Muslims and Christians to use these opportunity of lent and Ramadan as an eye opener to turn a good live.
The gathering concluded with renewed calls for “faith-driven discipline, collective responsibility, and compassion” during and beyond the Ramadan season.
