The Nigerian Air Force, operating under the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadin Kai, carried out a targeted air interdiction mission against suspected terrorist positions in the Yuwe area of the Sambisa region in Borno State.
According to the Air Force, Eko Hot Blog gathered that the pre-dawn strike was launched after Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions confirmed the presence of buildings believed to serve as hideouts for senior commanders as well as storage sites for logistics.

In a statement issued on Monday, NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame said the operation was executed with precision, hitting verified targets and destroying key infrastructure linked to the insurgents’ activities.

He added that post-strike evaluations, backed by intelligence reports, indicated that several high-ranking operatives and fighters involved in coordinating attacks in the theatre were neutralised during the raid.
The Air Force said the bombardment significantly weakened the group’s command-and-control systems and disrupted supply channels, thereby reducing its ability to operate effectively in the area.
Ejodame noted that surveillance flights have continued over the region to track fleeing elements and identify additional confirmed targets, maintaining pressure on the insurgents.
Reacting to the development, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, praised the professionalism and effectiveness of the aircrew and support teams.

He reiterated the Air Force’s determination to eliminate terrorist sanctuaries across the country through sustained, intelligence-led operations conducted in coordination with ground forces.
The mission forms part of broader counter-insurgency efforts in Nigeria’s North-East, where ongoing aerial campaigns in the Sambisa axis aim to dismantle militant strongholds, cut off supply routes and support troops working to restore security in affected communities.
