In a bid to reinforce security and collaboration in Epe, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, warmly welcomed the newly appointed Commander of the Nigerian Navy, Naval Base Epe, Captain LD Deyin, during a courtesy visit to the Local Government Secretariat on Monday, 16th March 2026.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the sit, attended by senior naval officers including Base Operation Officer Lieutenant AS Bello, Base Logistic Officer Lieutenant PE Miyantong, Base Intelligence Officer Lieutenant CK Ndubisi, and Base Naval Assistant Sub‑Lieutenant EJ Edojie, marks a key milestone in strengthening collaboration between the Local Government and the Nigerian Navy to maintain peace, security, and stability across Epe and its surrounding communities.
During the meeting, Hon. Animashaun congratulated Captain Deyin on his appointment and expressed confidence in his leadership.
“We are confident that under your command, the Naval Base will continue to play a pivotal role in protecting lives, property, and our waterways,” she stated.
She also highlighted the importance of security as the foundation for sustainable development, investment, and community growth.
“A secure environment is critical for the prosperity of our communities, and we are committed to working hand-in-hand with the Nigerian Navy to achieve this,” she added.
In response, Captain Deyin expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged the Navy’s continued support in ensuring peace and stability in the area.
“We appreciate the collaboration with the Local Government and remain ready to support all initiatives that promote security and safeguard residents,” he remarked.
The meeting concluded with mutual assurances to maintain a strong partnership aimed at fostering a safe, stable, and prosperous Epe Division.
