Uba said terrorists attacked the military location but were confronted by troops stationed in the area, prompting reinforcement from nearby formations.
He explained that additional support teams were immediately deployed from the Forward Operating Base in Pulka alongside personnel from the 151 Battalion to reinforce troops already engaged in the operation.
During the reinforcement mission, the leading Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which damaged two of its tyres.
Despite the incident, troops continued advancing toward the attacked position and successfully engaged the insurgents.
Following an exchange of gunfire and a subsequent pursuit operation, the fleeing attackers were forced to abandon weapons and other items.

Uba disclosed that soldiers recovered three AK-47 rifles and the barrel of a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) during the operation.
Military authorities said the successful counter-attack allowed troops to regain full control of the location while continuing clearance operations in the area.
