At the heart of the visit is a strong focus on education, skills development, and investment. The minister is scheduled to hold strategic meetings with global partners and investors, including Big Win Philanthropy, as part of efforts to advance the second phase of Nigeria’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiative.
This programme is aimed at equipping young Nigerians with practical, job-ready skills and aligning the country’s workforce with global standards.
In addition, Alausa will engage with the leadership of the University of Birmingham to deepen its existing collaboration with the University of Lagos.

The discussions are expected to focus on expanding academic exchange, research partnerships, and capacity building for Nigerian institutions.
The minister will also hold talks with Coventry University on plans to establish a full campus in Nigeria, a move that could significantly boost access to international-standard education within the country and reduce the need for students to travel abroad.
These engagements reflect a broader strategy by the Nigerian government to reposition the education sector as a driver of economic growth and national development. By strengthening global partnerships, the government aims to improve learning outcomes, expand opportunities for young people, and attract investment into the sector.

Alausa expressed optimism about the outcomes of the visit, noting that the discussions will not only enhance existing collaborations but also open new pathways for innovation and development.
He added that the coming days will provide an opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its priorities on the global stage, while building relationships that will support long-term progress in education, skills development, and beyond.
