EKO HOT BLOG reports that confirming the meeting, Atiku, in a post on his Facebook page, said both leaders held discussions on the state of the nation.
“This evening, I received the former Governor of Kano State and the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on a courtesy visit. We had a robust discussion on the state of the nation,” he wrote.
The meeting came days after Kwankwaso held a closed door meeting with the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, Rauf Aregbesola, in Abuja.
The talks were linked to ongoing consultations as Kwankwaso concludes engagements with the ADC leadership ahead of a possible defection to the opposition party.
It was gathered that the former Kano governor met Aregbesola at his Abuja residence before holding separate discussions with ADC leaders from Kano State.
Confirming the meeting, Kwankwaso described the engagement as cordial.

“It was a pleasure to receive my dear friend, His Excellency Rauf Aregbesola, former Governor of Osun State and National Secretary of the ADC, this evening at my residence in Abuja,” he said.
