EKO HOT BLOG reports that the disclosure followed the deadly assault on the Angwan Rukuba community on Sunday, during which heavily armed gunmen laid siege to the area, killing at least 20 people and injuring several others.
Speaking in an interview on Arise Television on Tuesday, Ramnap emphasised that the government would not ignore threats of violence and would act when credible information emerged.
“To start with, no government will be aware that they will be attacking the community and they will not do anything about it,” she said.
Ramnap confirmed that suspects who publicly warned of attacks in Jos following Ramadan have been taken into custody.
“The state government alone will not be able to achieve the necessary results required. Everyone has a responsibility for these people to be brought to book,” she said.
She also noted the involvement of federal security leadership in ongoing efforts to secure justice. “And just yesterday, again, the police Deputy Inspector‑General of Police was in Plateau, and the governor reiterated that position to say, okay, we want to see what happens to the outcome of this prosecution and the investigation that will be conducted and hopefully more arrests should be done in this case,” Ramnap added.

The commissioner explained that the process of bringing suspects to justice would follow established legal channels. “Now you can see that when arrest is done, it may not go through the military, the army. The arrest will go through the police. The investigation will go through a channel. The prosecution will go through another; that is the judiciary, and it’s a whole team that will work on this issue to be able to bring a lasting solution,” she said.
