After a six-month suspension, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central is ready to return to the National Assembly later this month.
Eko Hot Blog reports that her lawyer, Victor Giwa, confirmed her return, stating the senator is on vacation in London but has already made plans to resume her seat when the Senate reconvenes on September 23.

Giwa assured that the Senate leadership welcomes her return and does not expect any obstacles. He mentioned that the only thing left is her physical resumption.
The Senate initially suspended Akpoti-Uduaghan on March 6 after she reportedly rejected a seat change, a move the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions recommended.
The suspension stripped the senator of her aides, office privileges, and salary. She argued that her ordeal was linked to a petition she filed accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, a claim the Senate dismissed.
Despite the court’s decision, the Senate leadership insisted she must complete the six-month suspension. An attempt to force her way back into the National Assembly in July resulted in a standoff with security operatives.
With her suspension ending, her lawyer believes all legal disputes will be resolved and will not prevent her return.
