EKO HOT BLOG reports that Fayose made the remark during an interview on Channels Television, where he said he would be willing to face President Bola Ahmed Tinubu if selected as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He explained that his ambition is subject to the party’s internal processes, stressing that the party convention remains the legitimate platform for selecting a presidential flag bearer.
Fayose said he would respect the outcome of the process and align with the decision taken by the party.
“I would love to contest against BAT; if the PDP picks me as flag bearer, I will do my best,” he said.
He added that anyone aspiring to lead the country must be prepared, build strong nationwide support, and establish a clear connection with the people.

In a related development, Fayose also predicted that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar could emerge as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress.
He noted that while Peter Obi remains a respected and capable figure, his chances of becoming president at this stage may be limited.
