EKO HOT BLOG reports that Tomori, who served under the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, announced his resignation on Sunday, April 12, 2026. He declared his intention to represent Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II in Lagos State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
He said his decision to join the legislative race was driven by years of political engagement and a growing desire to contribute directly to governance at the national level. According to him, his political awareness began early through his close observation of Nigeria’s democratic struggles.
He explained that events surrounding the June 12, 1993 presidential election played a significant role in shaping his political consciousness. He noted that the period left a lasting impression on him and influenced his interest in public service.
Tomori also referenced key figures in Nigeria’s pro-democracy movement, including Bola Tinubu, Anthony Enahoro, and Dan Suleiman, as well as his former principal, Dele Alake, highlighting their roles under the National Democratic Coalition, which contributed to Nigeria’s return to civilian rule in 1999.

He stated that these experiences strengthened his commitment to governance and motivated his decision to seek elective office.
