- The Police Service Commission has scheduled the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBT) for April 28 to 30, 2026, marking a decisive stage in the ongoing recruitment exercise.
- The examination will take place across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, following the conclusion of the physical and credentials screening on April 18.
- While the window spans three days, the duration in each state will depend on the volume of candidates and the capacity of local CBT centers.
The Nigeria Police Force has moved to the next critical phase of its current recruitment drive, announcing the official dates for the nationwide aptitude tests.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement released on Thursday, April 16, 2026, the Sokoto State Police Command, on behalf of the Police Service Commission, confirmed that the Computer-Based Test (CBT) will hold between April 28 and April 30.

Police Public Relations Officer Ahmad Rufa’i emphasized that this phase is designed to ensure only the most “suitably qualified” individuals move forward in joining the force.
The move is part of a broader federal effort to bolster the manpower and operational efficiency of the police across the country.
The scheduling of the tests is designed to be flexible to accommodate different operational realities. According to Rufa’i, states with fewer candidates may conclude their testing within a single day, while high-volume states will utilize the full three-day period.
This approach ensures that every eligible applicant is given a fair opportunity to participate without overwhelming local infrastructure.
Candidates who successfully passed the physical and credentials screening, which wraps up this Saturday, April 18, are urged to stay alert for further communications.

The police command has cautioned applicants against falling victim to misinformation or recruitment scams. Shortlisted candidates and specific venue allocations will be communicated solely through verified official channels and the recruitment portal.
“Candidates are advised to remain patient and rely only on information from official platforms,” Rufa’i stated, reiterating that the force is committed to a transparent and merit-based selection process.
For many young Nigerians, this upcoming test represents the final major hurdle in their journey to secure a spot within the Nigeria Police Force. As the April 28 start date approaches, the emphasis remains on preparation and adherence to official instructions.
