“It has been an honour to contribute to the implementation of the administration’s economic agenda at a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s journey,” he said.
Edun recalled that he initially served as head of the Presidential Transition Committee and later as Special Adviser on Monetary Policy before his appointment as minister.
Reflecting on his tenure, he pointed to key reforms aimed at stabilising the macroeconomic environment, improving fiscal sustainability, and laying the foundation for long-term economic growth.

He added that the efforts were carried out in collaboration with members of the Federal Executive Council, state governors, and private sector stakeholders.
While acknowledging that challenges remain, the former minister said the country is on a clear path toward sustained economic progress.
His exit followed a cabinet reshuffle by President Tinubu, as confirmed in a memo signed by George Akume.
As part of the changes, Taiwo Oyedele has been appointed as the new Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, while Ahmed Musa Dangiwa was also relieved of his duties.
Edun wished his successor well and expressed confidence in the continuity of ongoing reforms, maintaining optimism about Nigeria’s economic trajectory.
