An aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Epe Constituency II, Adeniyi Rasaq Saliu, has officially withdrawn from the race ahead of the All Progressives Congress primary election.
The announcement was made in a press release issued by his media team on Tuesday, May 20, 2026.
According to the statement,Eko Hot Blog reports that Hon. Adeniyi Rasaq Saliu withdrew from the contest in the interest of party unity, democratic stability, and continued peace within Epe Constituency II and the APC family.

The statement further noted that the decision was taken in respect for the leadership of the party, royal fathers, and party stakeholders across the constituency.
Hon. Saliu also reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to the All Progressives Congress, while urging his supporters and political associates across the constituency to remain calm and continue to support the party.
The release praised Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as progressive and disciplined leadership focused on national interest above personal ambition.
According to the statement, the aspirant accepted the party’s decision in good faith and encouraged members and supporters to continue to uphold the values and unity of the APC across Epe Division.
The development has since generated reactions among party faithful and political observers within Epe Constituency II as political activities continue ahead of the APC primaries.
