Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has criticised individuals questioning the swift rescue of the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her children from kidnappers in Oyo State.
Mrs Olaide Adegoke and her 12-year-old twin sons were abducted on June 3 in Ibadan and rescued by security operatives on June 6 following a coordinated operation.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the successful rescue, however, sparked reactions on social media, with some users questioning why the victims were freed within days while schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State remained in captivity.
Reacting in a series of posts on X on Sunday, Olusegun defended the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force and condemned attempts to discredit the operation.
According to him, those expressing displeasure over the rescue were exhibiting a mindset similar to that of criminal elements.
“If you find yourself unhappy about the rescue of a woman and her children and jump on every conspiracy to try and downplay the efforts of law enforcement, just know you’re already a terrorist.
“You may not be carrying weapons yet, but your mindset and theirs are essentially the same,” he wrote.
The presidential aide also accused some critics of politicising the kidnapping incident rather than celebrating the safe return of the victims.
He described such individuals as “soulless” and alleged that they were exploiting the incident for political purposes.
“Like I said, these soulless individuals do not care about the kidnapped kids in Ogbomoso, and this particular cretin couldn’t contain his joy over Adelabu’s sister and kids being kidnapped.
“For them, this is political cannon fodder that they can use to bulldoze their perpetual loser of a candidate into office,” Olusegun wrote while responding to another social media user.
In a follow-up post, he rejected claims that supporters of the current administration behaved similarly while in opposition, insisting that they never celebrated the misfortunes of political opponents.
“Never in our time in opposition did we celebrate gleefully and shamelessly the misfortunes of those who don’t agree with us.
“You lots are soulless, and your justification today for losing your humanity is that ‘some people may have done it 12 years ago’,” he added.

The remarks have generated mixed reactions online as debates continue over insecurity, kidnapping and the performance of security agencies across the country.
