According to the commissioner, the project goes beyond the creation of a leisure destination and reflects the possibilities that emerge when private sector innovation aligns with government efforts to drive economic growth through tourism.

She noted that tourism has become a major contributor to economic development, creating employment opportunities, attracting investments, and stimulating growth across sectors such as hospitality, entertainment, transportation, arts, and culture.
“Tourism is no longer just about leisure; it is a powerful economic driver. It creates jobs, stimulates small businesses, and supports hospitality, entertainment, arts, culture, and transportation. Destinations like Nautica Beach Resort help us unlock these opportunities,” she said.
Benson-Awoyinka commended the resort’s promoters, investors, and partners for their confidence in Lagos State’s tourism potential, particularly its coastal and marine assets.
She reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Government to fostering an enabling environment for responsible investments that enhance visitor experiences, create jobs, and support sustainable economic growth.
The commissioner added that the broader Nautica vision extends beyond hospitality, encompassing marine recreation, entertainment, events, lifestyle experiences, and investment opportunities capable of positioning Lagos as a leading tourism destination.
Officially declaring the facility open, she expressed optimism that the resort would attract local and international visitors while contributing significantly to the state’s tourism economy.

“It is an honour and privilege to officially commission Nautica Beach Resort. May it prosper, create opportunities, attract visitors from around the world, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of our tourism economy,” she stated.
In his remarks, Founder and Chairman of Nautica Beach Resort, Adetoro Bank-Omotoye, described the project as the realization of a vision that many once considered unattainable.
He explained that the resort was conceived as part of a larger ecosystem designed to integrate tourism, hospitality, entertainment, culture, business, investment, and lifestyle experiences into a single destination.
“Nautica is visible proof that vision, when pursued with discipline, determination, and persistence, can become reality,” he said.
Bank-Omotoye noted that the project was inspired by a desire to create a destination where people can live, relax, connect, celebrate, invest, and thrive.
He also praised government agencies and development partners for supporting the initiative, stressing that effective collaboration between the public and private sectors remains critical to sustainable national development.

According to him, when governments provide an enabling environment, private investors are encouraged to pursue projects that generate economic value and shared prosperity.
The resort chairman further called on Nigerians in the diaspora and prospective investors to explore opportunities within the expanding Nautica ecosystem, particularly in tourism, hospitality, and real estate, as a means of supporting economic growth and sectoral development.
