Oluchi was initially reported abducted in the Ikpoba Hill area of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, prompting concerns among relatives and the wider community.
Following the reported abduction, her children, including a daughter based in Canada, appealed for public support to raise funds after suspected kidnappers allegedly demanded a ransom of N50 million, which was later reduced to N20 million.
However, police investigations reportedly led operatives to a hotel in Ubiaroko, Delta State, where Oluchi was eventually located.
A source familiar with the investigation disclosed that detectives traced a phone number linked to one of the suspects to the hotel.
According to the source, police officers found both the woman and the man inside the facility during the operation.
The source further revealed that Oluchi’s husband was informed after investigators uncovered the circumstances surrounding the case.
Reacting in a video that has circulated on social media, Oluchi’s daughter, Anita, expressed shock over the outcome of the investigation and described the development as heartbreaking for the family.
“My mum has been released. My mum is involved in this kidnapping case. I only did what I did to save my mum,” she said.
Anita explained that the family worked closely with security agencies throughout the period and did not pay any ransom before her mother was found.

According to her, the money raised during the fundraising campaign remains intact and would be refunded to contributors.
“We were called that my mum has been released. We didn’t pay the kidnappers. The money is intact. We are going to make a refund. We involved the police from the beginning. We now know it was not a real kidnapping,” she stated.
She also alleged that investigators informed the family that her mother and another individual had planned to benefit from part of the funds already raised.
Describing the emotional impact of the incident, Anita said the development had devastated the family, particularly her father, who is reportedly dealing with health challenges.
The Harmony Ladies Club, a group to which Anita belongs, also expressed disappointment over the outcome of the investigation.
In a statement shared on the group’s WhatsApp platform, members said they had provided emotional, financial and logistical support after news of the alleged abduction emerged.
The group said it acted in good faith and was shocked by the findings that later surfaced during the police investigation.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, CSP Moses Yamu, said four suspects had been arrested in connection with the matter.
“I can confirm the incident and also let you know that four people have been arrested in connection with the incident,” he said.
Police authorities added that investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case and the roles played by those involved.
